Ellwood City Community Plaza FAQs
Can anyone use the Community Plaza?
Yes, as long as the Plaza is available, anyone can use it. It belongs to the community.
Do I have to reserve the space?
We ask that anyone interested in using the Plaza contact the Chamber of Commerce (724-758-5501) or Gary Fox (724-758-8548) ahead of time so that there are no conflicts with others who may be using it.
Is there a fee to use the Plaza?
There is a fee of $50 if you will be using the electricity. You will need to pay this fee prior to your event.
Is their electricity to use at the Plaza?
Yes, but it is not always on. If you will need electricity for your event, please let the Chamber know when reserving the space.
Is there water available at the Plaza?
No. You may bring in your own water as needed.
Do I have to clean up the area?
We ask that you empty any of the trash cans that are used during your event and see that any debris is swept up. Please leave the Plaza the way you found it so that others can enjoy it.
Are there restrooms available?
During the Farmers’ Market season, portable restrooms are available at the back of the 500 Beaver Ave. parking lot. During the other months, supplying temporary restroom facilities is the responsibility of the organization using the Plaza for any given event.
What kind of events can be held in the Community Plaza?
All we ask is that your event be appropriate for a family venue. Also keep in mind that there are tenants living and businesses operating in the area around the Plaza. Be respectful of their needs as well as your own.
When is the fountain on?
On most days during the spring and summer, the fountains will be on from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. In the fall, the hours are from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. In the winter months, the fountain is turned off due to the chance of damage from freezing. During some events, it is turned off so that the sound of the water doesn’t interfere with a performance. If the winds are too high, the fountain automatically shuts off and comes back on when the winds have died down.
Can I make a donation to the Community Plaza?
Yes! There is upkeep for the Plaza and we hope to add a Comfort Station in the future to replace the portable toilets currently used for events. You can mail a check to ECR and mail or drop it off at the Chamber of Commerce at 314 Fifth Street, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
