Doug Butchy Big Band Brings Swing and Big Band Sounds to EC Community Plaza Saturday, August 17th

Doug Butchy, a graduate of Youngstown State University, formed the Doug Butchy Big Band in 2006 to bring a unique blend of big band, swing, rock, modern jazz and funk to the area. The band has been a resounding success with audiences throughout western Pennsylvania and will be performing this Saturday, August 17th at the Ellwood City Community Plaza at 7:00 pm.

The members of the band are from in and around the Shenango Valley area. Many of them are local educators and professional musicians. Although they showcase big band music from the 1940s and 1950s, they do perform jazz and rock classics as well, ensuring that audiences of all ages will enjoy their performances.
